F-GAS Training & Certification - City & Guilds 2079

According to new regulations, if you are handling, recovering, supplying, installing, manufacturing, maintaining, servicing or own equipment containing HFC refrigerants in stationary equipment you must have the F-Gas Regulations Certification following EU legislation. It is a legal requirement for engineers working in the UK to be F-Gas certified.


This qualification is designed to enable refrigeration and air conditioning engineers to meet legal requirements in relation to the qualifications required to work with Fluorinated Greenhouse Gases, otherwise known as F-Gases. The F-Gas Regulations have been put in place by DEFRA to help EU countries meet the Kyoto protocol targets.


The UK City & Guilds 2079 qualification, also called F-Gas Certification, is valid in all the EU countries.


You can choose either of the following packages:


  • Silver Package: ½ day assessment - cost £340 pp. This package is suitable for very experienced engineers who do not require any training.
  • Gold Package: Online theory course + ½ day assessment - cost £520 pp. This package is suitable for experienced engineers who need to refresh their theory knowledge.
  • Platinum Package: Online theory course + 1 day practical training & assessment - cost £820 pp or £695 pp (for a group of 4 people from the same company). This package is suitable for experienced engineers who require a theory and practical refresher prior to the actual assessment.

 


City & Guilds Registration and Certification fee of £60 + VAT are additional to the prices above.


The F-Gas qualification covers 4 different categories of personnel according to their activity:

  • Category I - covering service, maintenance, installation, commissioning and leak checking of stationary RAC equipment.
  • Category II - covering activities on RAC equipment with a charge of less than 3 kg (or 6 kg if hermetically sealed).
  • Category III - covering recovery activity only.
  • Category IV - covering non-invasive leak-checking.

 

Accreditation/Certification

You will achieve a City and Guilds 2079-11 Award in F-Gas and ODS Regulations.

Duration

Online Course: 3 -10 hours to complete (depending on learning speed). Practical Training & Assessment at any Star Centre: 1 day.

This certification is designed for operatives who install, service and repair refrigeration, air-conditioning and heat pump systems,
